Worked example
Attended 40, missed 5:
Total = 45 → attendance = 40 / 45 × 100 ≈ 88.9%
Can miss = floor(40 / 0.75) − 45 = 53 − 45 = 8 more classes
Frequently asked questions
How is attendance percentage calculated?
Divide the number of classes you attended by the total number of classes (attended plus missed), then multiply by 100.
How many classes can I miss and stay above 75%?
The calculator estimates this from your attended count. It assumes you keep attending at the same rate and shows how many additional absences still leave you at or above 75%.
What if I am already below 75%?
The "classes you can miss" figure shows 0, because any further absence lowers your percentage further. You would need to attend upcoming classes to recover.
Does this include future classes?
No. It only uses the attended and missed figures you enter. Future classes are not counted until you add them.
Why is 75% the bar?
Many institutions require at least 75% attendance to sit exams, though the exact threshold varies, so check your own rules.
