Finally, confirm the product’s actual coverage against the box label before ordering — manufacturers occasionally revise pack sizes, and a 21.5 sq ft box instead of 22.09 shifts the count by one on a 200 sq ft job. If you’re installing over an existing floor, remember that transitions (thresholds, reducers, T-moldings) add linear feet that aren’t captured by area alone; budget an extra 5–10% for transition pieces and stair nosing where applicable. Carpet rolls (12 ft or 15 ft widths) require seam planning — the calculator’s linear-length output assumes full-width drops, but pattern matching or seam placement may add 5–10% more yardage.

Can I calculate multiple rooms at once?

What if my room is not a rectangle?

Break an L-shape, bay window, or odd corner into rectangles. Calculate each rectangle, then sum the areas. The calculator’s piece/box count will still be correct because it works on the final total area.
